Gibernau Vidriers Artesáns del vidre

Glass artisan, co-owner of Tot Vidre Gibernau S.L., family owned company founded in 1985 in Mataró, Barcelona.

From the start, his professional life has revolved around working primarily with sheet glass. About 15 year ago, he entered the world of fused glass and at present, the company is specialized in bent work and fusion of large scale pieces of glass (up to 260 x 180 cm).

Holder of several patents in the world of glass, including the manufacturing process of glass wash basins or glass stair steps where the tread and riser is one piece.

He collaborates with artists, architects and proscribers to complete unique projects in glass, providing his expertise to bring to fruition any project that might seem impossible. The staff made up of a team of professionals can take charge of the whole process from design, start and completion of the project if the client so wishes.

For several years now, he has been working with Rafa Torres and Salvador Cervera, glass artisans as well in several glass-related events and juried shows under the name Arco Vítreo, having won several awards and honorable mentions.

Since 2007, David Gibernau holds the presidency of the Associació Catalana de les Arts del Vidre (ACAV), an association dedicated to spreading and promoting artisan and artistic glass.

He is also a member of the board of the Federació d’Associacións d’Artesans d’Ofici de Catalunya (FAAOC), which promotes the association of artisans of all sectors.

He is often invited to participate in round tables and glass related events. He has also been moderator of several Spanish-speaking glass forums in which he is currently active, but exclusively moderates de ACAV forum.
